Actress Kathy Griffin to undergo lung cancer surgery
Actress Kathy Griffin has revealed she will be undergoing lung cancer surgery, and doctors for the American actress are optimistic she “should be up and running as usual in a month or less.”
Griffin took to Instagram and Twitter on Monday to say his cancer was detected early and confined to his left lung, half of which will be removed.
“I’ve been trying for four years to get back to work, make you laugh and entertain you, but it’s going to be okay,” she wrote. “Please keep up to date with your doctor’s visits.”
Supporters on Twitter include Jane Lynch, who wrote, “I send you all my love and vibes for good health,” and Ashley Nicole Black, who said, “I pray for you! So many people support you!
Griffin has had a tumultuous few years, including facing backlash in 2017 for participating in a photoshoot that showed her brandishing a bloody fake head resembling U.S. President Donald Trump. Her sister, Joyce Griffin, died of cancer in September 2017 and her mother, Maggie Griffin, who had dementia, died in March 2020.
