Brisbane set to host 2032 Olympics next month
Brisbane will be offered as the host of the 2032 Olympics to members of the International Olympic Committee, to be confirmed in Tokyo next month.
IOC President Thomas Bach said after a board meeting Brisbane could be awarded the hosting rights at a meeting on July 21 before the opening of the Tokyo Olympics.
Brisbane is expected to be the first Olympics host unopposed to be selected under a new system to streamline and speed up auction campaigns.
The Australian city was put on the fast lane to victory in February when the IOC nominated her as the preferred candidate.
