Tax and contribution freeze until August 31, suspension of mortgages and payment of bills, exceptional layoffs for all workers up to 90 days, with protection of up to 580 million euros. And a one-time payment of up to 3,000 euros for the self-employed, with protection of up to 300 million euros. These are the first measures to deal with the severe weather emergency in Emilia-Romagna provided for in the decree adopted by the Council of Ministers on Tuesday 23 May. In the current situation in which Italy finds itself, raising 2 billion euros in a few days is not an easy thing. “The entire government deserves credit for addressing the emergency with the utmost concentration, availability and effectiveness,” said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, explaining the decree at the table with the President of Emilia Romagna, Stefano Bonaccini, and the social partners of the region.
