the 100 million to Fascina, Arcore, Fininvest-Corriere.it
We’ll have to wait at least until next week to hear Silvio Berlusconi’s latest wishes. The last wishes of the former prime minister are in the hands of the notary Arrigo Roveda, but will only be announced after several important steps. There are three dates to consider: today, Wednesday 28 June, the day of the shareholders’ meeting of H14 spa, the holding company of Barbara, Luigi and Eleonora Berlusconi, Veronica Lario’s three children, and Thursday 29 June, the day on on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, the Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of the parent company Fininvest will convene, at which the Mediaset 2023-2024 schedules will be presented at the Cologno Monzese studios. Even if, in reality, the programs of the networks controlled by Fininvest will not be officially announced until the morning of July 5th. The reading of the Knight’s Testament will not take place before these dates.
The general meeting of Fininvest and the 20 percent node
The most important step will be the regular meeting of the parent company Fininvest, where the approval of the annual accounts and the renewal of the board of directors will be on the agenda. Long-time president Marina Berlusconi and the board are a mix of family and managers, including Marina’s brother Pier Silvio, the children Berlusconi had from Verona, Lario, Barbara and Luigi, and stalwarts Adriano Galliani and Salvatore Sciascia. The assembly is expected to approve the renewal of Berlusconi’s Tresor board of directors, ensuring continuity in leadership. The Cavaliere owned 61% of the company to which most of the family’s activities relate, including Mediaset, Mondadori and Monza, while the remaining stake was split equally between his children. When the will is opened, it is announced to whom the 20% available to him will go, while the remaining 40% will automatically be divided equally between the 5 children. The founder is expected to have made a decision that will ensure continuity and balance in the management of the vault, but we’ll have to wait until July to find out for sure.
The villas
The future of Fininvest is not the only unknown. To whom does Villa San Martino in Arcore go? And what about Villa Certosa in Sardinia? The problem to be solved in this case concerns Immobiliare Idra, the company that owns the main properties (Arcore, Certosa, etc.) and is charged with a value of 412 million, as explained by Mario Gerevini on Corriere della Sera. Added to this are the unsecured properties, which the former prime minister was therefore free to dispose of without costly corporate restructuring. And these are: the historic residence in Milan-San Gimignano, Villa Due Palme in Lampedusa, Villa Campari on Lake Maggiore and a small studio in Trieste inherited from the painter Glauco Dimini.
The legacy to Marta Fascina
It is certain that the knight also made a legacy in favor of Marta Fascina, the last consort with whom he celebrated a quasi-marriage at Villa Gernetto. According to some sources, one of Berlusconi’s residences, the usufruct of Arcore and a check for 100 million euros could go to the Forza Italia MP.
